Job Description
Junior Architectural Designer Location:
New York City (NoMad) | Full-Time | On-Site About the Role We're seeking a Junior Architectural Designer who is eager to get hands-on and grow within a highly creative, design-forward studio specializing in luxury interiors and lifestyle environments. This is an exciting opportunity to be deeply involved in projects from concept through installation, working on high-end hospitality, residential, and retail spaces. In this role, you won't just support projects—you'll help bring them to life. You'll collaborate closely with a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team, gaining direct mentorship from leadership and exposure across architecture, interiors, furniture, and retail design. What You'll Do + Create detailed architectural drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, including floor plans, RCPs, elevations, and custom details + Contribute to Design Development (DD) and Construction Documentation (CD) drawing sets + Conduct site visits to gather measurements, document conditions, and support installations + Assist with material and finish selection, sourcing, and presentation preparation + Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and trades to ensure design intent is executed flawlessly + Track projects across design, fabrication, and installation—helping to keep everything on time and on vision + Support FF&E sourcing and help craft polished client presentations + Work across multiple projects, helping manage schedules, scopes, and deliverables + Collaborate daily with a small, dynamic team, contributing ideas and solutions in a fast-paced environment What We're Looking For + 1-3 years of experience in architecture, interior architecture, or a related field (strong entry-level candidates encouraged!) + Degree in Architecture or a related discipline + Strong AutoCAD skills, with the ability to produce full DD/CD drawing sets + Understanding of the project lifecycle—from design development through construction + A natural problem-solver who enjoys coordinating with teams and troubleshooting in real time + Exposure to materials, finishes, and FF&E sourcing + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills + Strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do mindset + Someone who thrives in a hands-on, high-accountability environment Bonus Points If You Have + Experience with luxury residential, hospitality, or retail design + Proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop for presentations + Familiarity with 3D modeling tools + Experience in a design-driven or boutique studio environment + A passion for working across architecture, interiors, and product design + An interest in growing with a studio expanding into development and hospitality projects Why You'll Love Working Here + Be part of a small, highly collaborative studio where your work truly matters + Gain direct exposure to leadership and mentorship + Work on high-profile, design-led projects across multiple sectors + Experience a culture that values both creativity and ownership + Enjoy Summer Fridays (Memorial Day-Labor Day) + Grow your career in a studio where you're more than a number—you're a key contributor Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.65/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
