JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking a full-time Designer to join our creative team. Candidates must have strong architectural design and technical skills. Working with the assigned Project Architect or Project Manager, the Designer will help draft architectural plans, sections, elevations and detailing into AutoCAD and Revit through all project phases. This position requires self-motivation, strong attention to detail and organization, the capability to multitask and ability to work in a team atmosphere. Please be located in the Portland metro area and able to work in office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage multiple projects concurrently with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Participate in client, stakeholders, jurisdiction meetings and understand needs in order to develop architectural solutions Coordinate with other design disciplines Assist design team in documenting site measurements and project data Perform IBC code checks Research jurisdictional zoning requirements and document findings Production of construction documents through all phases of the design process under the supervision of the Project Architect or Project Manager Produce conceptual renderings for project design and presentation Accept direction from the Project Architect or Project Manager to pick up edits/redlines as needed Coordination with governmental agencies Understand the importance of time management as it pertains to each project's schedule and budget Involvement in Construction Administration, site visits and project completion
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years related experience is required, preferably in an architectural firm Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university Working towards licensure Thorough knowledge of IBC codes
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical codes including; state building code, energy code, fire code and local zoning code Documentation knowledge
  • ability to create, select, evaluate, and implement architectural details, procedures and techniques used to complete project documents at all phases of a project Knowledge of building materials and construction methods Willingness to accept new and/or additional responsibilities Exceptional organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently as well as within a team Manages time well•ability to plan, prioritize and organize simultaneous assignments and work under tight deadlines Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients and consultants Software proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), required, AutoCAD proficiency is a plus
