Myers Homes and embark on an exciting career today. Job Summary J. A. Myers Homes is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter to join our production team. The ideal candidate will translate residential architectural concepts, rough sketches, and red lines into accurate, build-ready construction drawings for new home construction. You will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining a library of floor plans, elevations, and site-specific details that comply with local building codes and company standards. Key Responsibilities Generate detailed 2D construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and foundation plans, using AutoCAD Architecture. Implement redline markups and design changes from architects, engineers, and site managers promptly and accurately. Adapt master home plans to specific lot conditions, including foundation updates, site plan coordination, and option selection. Maintain organized digital plan files, X-Refs, block libraries, and revision logs to ensure accurate documentation. Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and field staff to ensure drawings are constructible and aligned with material specifications. Review plans for inconsistencies, errors, or missing dimensions to prevent field mistakes. Prerequisites for Success 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD drafting, preferably in residential construction or high-volume home building. Expert proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Architecture Strong understanding of residential wood-framing methods, construction techniques, and blueprint reading. Associate's degree in architectural Drafting, Construction Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). Strong attention to detail, excellent mathematical skills (geometry, area calculations), and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with LotSpec for AutoCAD, Revit, or 3D Modeling Software. Familiarity with municipal permitting processes.
