This role will establish the reference architectures, technical standards, and design direction for civil, structural, and site infrastructure systems that support OCI's rapidly expanding hyperscale and AI data center footprint. As a key technical authority, you will help build and scale OCI's Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA) function with a focus on creating repeatable, globally deployable design patterns that improve speed to market, resiliency, constructability, cost efficiency, and long-term performance. You will partner closely with construction, operations, supply chain, and strategic delivery partners to influence design decisions, validate technical solutions, and drive adoption of innovative approaches that enable faster and more scalable execution. This role is ideal for a deeply experienced CSA architect who can think strategically while also shaping the practical details that determine whether a design can be delivered quickly, consistently, and successfully at GW scale. Responsibilities What you'll do Architecture and Standards
  • Develop and evolve OCI's global reference architectures for CSA data center systems.
  • Establish technical standards for site development, structural frames, building envelopes, and supporting civil infrastructure.
  • Define scalable design approaches that support hyperscale, AI, and GW-scale data center development while balancing reliability, constructability, speed to market, and lifecycle performance.
  • Drive engineering standards that align with applicable codes, industry best practices, and OCI's long-term infrastructure strategy.
  • Create design frameworks that support future campus growth, modular deployment, and evolving site requirements. Design Function Development
  • Help stand up and mature OCI's CSA capability as a global engineering function.
  • Build repeatable design processes, standards, templates, and review mechanisms that improve consistency and shorten time from concept to deployment.
  • Influence design governance in a way that accelerates decision-making without sacrificing quality or rigor.
  • Translate lessons learned from deployed sites into improved standards and next-generation design patterns.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure CSA design decisions support OCI's broader infrastructure strategy. Speed to Market, Efficiency, and Cost
  • Develop designs that reduce schedule risk, improve constructability, and accelerate delivery across OCI's global fleet.
  • Evaluate opportunities to simplify site development through standardization, modularization, prefabrication, and repeatable structural approaches.
  • Lead total cost of ownership analyses that balance capex, opex, schedule, and lifecycle maintainability.
  • Set engineering targets for design efficiency, material optimization, and deployment speed.
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify opportunities to improve both speed to market and long-term site performance. Design, Delivery, and Operations
  • Provide technical leadership from concept through construction and operational handoff.
  • Review and validate global standard civil and structural designs, site plans, and engineering calculations.
  • Ensure designs are validated against OCI's engineering intent, operational requirements, and site development objectives.
  • Partner with construction and operations teams to incorporate field learnings into future designs and standards.
  • Support design validation and continuous improvement activities for next-generation deployments. Vendor and Industry Engagement
  • Build strategic technical relationships with consultants, EPCs, geotechnical partners, structural fabricators, and critical suppliers.
  • Lead technical evaluations, RFIs, and RFPs for major civil and structural scopes and related design services.
  • Influence supplier and delivery partner roadmaps to align with OCI's long-term infrastructure needs.
  • Track industry developments in foundation systems, structural materials, building methods, and site development technologies.
  • Identify and promote innovative civil and structural solutions that improve deployment velocity and infrastructure performance. What you'll bring
  • 12+ years of experience in civil engineering, structural engineering, or related disciplines focused on data center or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Deep expertise in site development, grading, drainage, foundations, structural systems, and building envelope design at scale.
  • Proven experience developing data center design standards, reference architectures, or global infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of civil site planning, geotechnical considerations, structural systems, and code-driven design requirements.
  • Experience improving cost, constructability, schedule, or lifecycle performance across multiple sites or programs.
  • Strong network of consultants, EPCs, and delivery partners, with experience driving technical evaluations and requirements.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions through clear technical judgment and data.
