Bring deep retail design and architecture experience to lead pre-design, design, programming, planning, and permitting drafting activities across Quick Quack's site development pipeline. Apply advanced drafting and coordination skills to produce accurate test fits and construction-ready drawing sets while setting standards and serving as a technical resource for the broader drafting team. Partner closely with the Design Manager, Architects and Engineers of Record, and outside consultants to deliver high-quality, standards-compliant designs on schedule.Job Summary:
The Architectural Drafter is an experienced design professional responsible for leading pre-design, design, programming, planning, and permitting drafting activities that bring new or remodeled Quick Quack car wash locations to life. Building on a strong foundation in retail design and architecture, this person produces and refines preliminary concepts, and supplemental drawing sets while coordinating with Real Estate Managers (REMs), Architects and Engineers of Record (AORs/EORs), and outside consultants. Can be relied upon to present technical design solutions directly to the REMs, the consultants and with all project stakeholders. Beyond individual production, the Architectural Drafter upholds drafting standards, refines standard operating procedures to drive efficiency. The role requires the ability to manage ambiguity through the pre-design and design phases, balance multiple concurrent projects, and communicate clearly with stakeholders across the development organization. Coordinates with the project manager to directly supervise the team's design and technical delivery.Desired Duties and Responsibilities:
Research due diligence requirements and draft site layouts, and preliminary concepts as needed. Coordinate with REMs and consultants during the investigation period. Actively engage and partner with other design team members in the production of exhibits and construction plan sets, meeting deadlines and ensuring standards are implemented. Complete supplemental internal drawing sets for internal quality control and for Construction Document production as needed. Provide input and ensure timely, accurate responses to production requests. Set, document, and uphold drafting standards and best practices across the design team. Refine and develop SOPs to optimize drafting efficiency and consistency. Ensure proper reporting and data governance. Deliver projects utilizing the company's design and construction platforms, software, databases, and tools. Communicate succinctly and transparently with all key project stakeholders. Manage ambiguity and the challenges that arise during the pre-design design and construction phases. Report directly to Architect, Engineers, and project managers.Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in architecture, Interior Design, or a related field required. 2+ years of experience as a Drafter, Interior Designer, or Architect. Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and other applicable programs to produce drawings accurately and efficiently. Strong working knowledge of architectural construction drawings, specifications, and project manuals. Experience working with Architects and Engineers of Record, retail design, and fixture planning. Understanding of retail roll-out design and construction programs; previous experience with a national retail roll-out program a plus. Experience with Procore and Bluebeam during design reviews desirable. Experience with Smartsheet desirable. Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; a proactive, solutions-oriented, outside-the-box thinker. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is a Hybrid working position based in Spanish Fork, UT area; must be available and present during standard business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM local time) and flexible to occasionally support cross-functional collaboration outside of those times. Must be willing to appear on camera during video meetings and virtual collaboration sessions. Willing to travel as needed, anticipated less than 15% of the time.EEOC Category:
