is a boutique residential design studio specializing in thoughtful renovations of older homes throughout Northern New Jersey. Our projects are detail-driven, highly collaborative, and highly bespoke. We're seeking a technically minded Junior Architectural Designer to support the team in the development and execution of our space planning and construction documentations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the precision of residential detailing, custom cabinetry, and working closely with contractors and fabricators throughout construction. The Role Working alongside the Creative Director, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating technical drawing packages that accurately communicate design intent from concept through construction. This position is heavily focused on documentation, field verification, and construction coordination rather than just decorating or furnishings. ResponsibilitiesConstruction Documentation Produce detailed AutoCAD drawing sets including: Existing Conditions Floor Plans Electrical & Lighting Plans Interior Elevations Millwork Elevations Cabinetry Details Bathroom Elevations Construction Details Revise drawing packages throughout design development and construction. Coordinate consultant and contractor markups into drawing sets. Maintain organized project documentation. Kitchens & Baths Develop kitchen and bathroom layouts. Prepare cabinetry elevations and detailed millwork drawings. Coordinate plumbing fixtures, appliances, hardware, and electrical requirements. Review manufacturer and millworker shop drawings. Verify dimensions prior to fabrication. Site Coordination Conduct field measurements and existing condition surveys. Verify dimensions before construction and fabrication. Attend contractor walkthroughs and milestone site meetings. Record site observations and update documentation. Assist in resolving field conditions with contractors and fabricators. Technical Coordination Coordinate with architects, contractors, millworkers, cabinet shops, and fabricators. Prepare specification schedules Create new floor plans and field-verify Track revisions and maintain current drawing sets. Qualifications Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or related field preferred. 2-5 years of experience in residential architecture or interior design. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (required). Experience producing construction documents independently. Working knowledge of residential construction methods. Understanding of custom cabinetry and millwork detailing. Understanding of FF&E, particularly plumbing + electric schedules Experience reviewing shop drawings. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Comfortable balancing multiple active projects. Preferred Experience with kitchens and luxury residential renovations. Knowledge of SketchUp and basic 3D visualization. Familiarity with plumbing, appliance, and lighting coordination. Experience working directly with contractors and custom millworkers.
