Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Lighting Designer to lead innovative lighting projects across diverse architectural environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the ambiance, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces through expert lighting design. As a key member of our design team, you will collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, clients, and construction teams to deliver compelling lighting solutions that meet both creative visions and technical standards. Your expertise will drive project success from concept development through detailed documentation and installation oversight, ensuring every project is executed with precision and artistic excellence. Duties Lead the conceptualization and development of lighting designs for residential interior projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and architectural intent. Utilize advanced CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, and 3ds Max to create detailed lighting plans, renderings, and visual presentations that effectively communicate design ideas. Prepare comprehensive construction detail documentation, including specifications for fixtures, controls, wiring diagrams, and installation guidelines compliant with building codes and safety standards. Conduct building code analysis related to lighting requirements and ensure all designs meet local regulations and sustainability standards. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously by coordinating schedules, budgets, client communications, and team deliverables to ensure timely project completion. Develop 3D models for architectural visualization using software like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite to produce compelling renderings that showcase lighting concepts. Collaborate with contractors during the construction phase to oversee installation quality, troubleshoot issues on-site, and ensure adherence to design intent. Engage in client communication throughout the project lifecycle by presenting designs clearly and incorporating feedback effectively. Support business growth by contributing to lighting sales efforts through technical expertise and innovative proposals for renovation or remodeling projects. Qualifications Proven experience in lighting design within residential interior projects or similar environments; portfolio demonstrating successful project execution is essential. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite—especially Photoshop—for drafting, rendering, and presentation purposes. Strong understanding of building code compliance related to lighting systems as well as knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations. Skilled in 3D modeling for architectural design and rendering techniques that enhance visual communication of concepts. Experience managing multiple projects from inception through completion while maintaining high-quality standards within budget constraints. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and incorporate feedback constructively. Knowledge of color theory and graphic design principles relevant to creating visually appealing lighting schemes. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) tools such as Revit for integrated project delivery. Construction experience including site visits, installation oversight, and troubleshooting during renovation or remodeling projects is highly desirable. $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
