Residential Drafter

Job Description

About the Position We are a residential design company specializing in projects ranging from small remodels and additions to large, custom home plans. We work closely with homeowners, builders, and contractors to develop accurate, detailed construction documents for permitting and construction. We are looking for an entry-level Residential Drafter / Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the design and drafting of residential projects while developing practical experience in residential construction and building design. Our primary design software is Chief Architect , with AutoCAD also used for certain projects. Responsibilities Assist with drafting and design of residential remodels, additions, and new home plans. Prepare accurate and detailed construction drawings and documents. Make revisions based on client, builder, and project requirements. Assist with developing plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. Communicate professionally with clients, builders, and team members. Learn and apply residential construction methods, building codes, and permitting requirements. Maintain organized project files and drawing sets. Work as part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Answering office phone calls.
Qualifications Required:
At least one year of technical school or related drafting/design education. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Ability to read and understand architectural or construction drawings. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good written and verbal communication skills. Professional, dependable, and willing to learn.
Preferred:
Experience with Chief Architect . Residential construction knowledge or experience. Experience with architectural drafting or residential design. Familiarity with building codes and permitting processes. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is personable, articulate, detail-oriented, and eager to learn . Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
