Job Description Overview The Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a TES Engineering Technician position. The selected candidate will provide technical assistance with ongoing projects; examples include, but are not limited to, providing electrical and electronic support and performing maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Responsibilities Essential functions but not limited to the following: Provide electrical and electronic support Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment Assist with installation and fabrication of equipment Assist with preparing specification and parts lists, and procure parts and supplies for fabrication shop Oversees the cleanliness and presentability of Biosystems Engineering laboratories Assist with managing Biosystems Engineering vehicle fleet Perform other duties as assigned by the department head Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited institution in a technical or scientific field. Two years of experience in fabrication, equipment troubleshooting, and electrical systems Valid driver's license Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated ability to use and operate machining shop equipment/tools such as lathes, milling machines, and welders. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
