Job Description

Job Overview:
Automation Robotics and Controls (ARC) is seeking an Automation Technician to support our automation projects through hands-on programming, testing, and commissioning. This role includes developing HMI templates, programming and commissioning PLC systems, assisting with automation equipment setup, and creating or updating layouts and schematics using AutoCAD. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational automation experience who wants to grow their technical skills in a dynamic, project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Program and modify HMI templates for new and existing automation systems. Commission PLCs for industrial equipment and process control systems. Assist with developing and testing automation templates to streamline project setup. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC and HMI functionality. Support installation and startup of automated systems at customer sites. Maintain accurate documentation of all programming and commissioning work, including AutoCAD drawings and layouts. Collaborate with engineers and project leads to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
Skills & Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Electrical, or Controls Technology (or equivalent work experience). Experience with PLC programming. Familiarity with HMI development and industrial communication protocols. Basic understanding of electrical systems, sensors, and industrial networks. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning and field support.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
