Job Description

Job Overview:
Automation Robotics and Controls (ARC) is seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Specialist with a strong focus on programming to design, implement, and optimize industrial automation systems. This role will work closely with engineers and project managers to improve system performance, troubleshoot issues, and develop innovative solutions to support complex and evolving project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs for new and existing systems. Integrate robotics, motion control systems, and sensor technologies into production processes. Support system startup, testing, and commissioning to ensure equipment meets design specifications. Maintain and optimize existing automation systems, identifying opportunities for performance improvement. Ensure all systems comply with safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support project execution and continuous improvement efforts. Provide training and technical support to employees on automation systems and controls.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in automation engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field. 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, with a strong focus on PLC and HMI programming. Proficiency in programming languages and industrial communication protocols. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve control system issues efficiently. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Strong organizational and documentation skills, including version control and program backups. Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with customers when needed.
