Automation Technician

Job Description

Job Summary (Description of the role, what success in the position looks like, and how it fits into the organization) This is a role within Systems' Operations and Supply Chain group. A successful incumbent is expected to (i) Develop programming and perform calibration on automation equipment, maximizing equipment runtimes, and (ii) Support production needs, ensure completion of all equipment corrective work orders, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment failures. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment such as welding robots. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (in descending order of percentage of time required) Adjust programming and perform calibration on automation equipment, maximizing equipment runtimes. Support production needs, ensure completion of all equipment corrective work orders, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment failures. Mentor and train operators and maintenance technicians on use of automation equipment Perform preventative maintenance procedures on robotic systems at set intervals. Conduct equipment automation failure analysis, determine failure root causes. Troubleshoot basic errors of robots and resolve. Perform and assist in the repair and maintenance of robotic weld equipment. Assist in creating preventive maintenance work orders checklists to improve and maximize overall equipment usage. Assist other technicians doing preventive maintenance on complex equipment. Utilize maintenance management system to perform work (e.g. record work history, identify parts usage) in a timely and effective manner. Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams. Protect Chamberlain Group's and Systems' reputation by keeping information confidential. Education/Certifications:
No minimum education required
Experience:
2+ years experience of industrial and facility maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and maintaining industrial equipment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations Working knowledge of manufacturing machines. Ability to identify issues and repairs that are needed Knowledge in computers and basic software applications.

The pay range for this position is $18.41 - $28.62/hr. Base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
