Position Summary We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Technician to assist with the troubleshooting, testing, calibration, and installation of control systems at our major data center site in Goodyear, AZ. You will collaborate daily with mechanical and electrical teams to terminate control wiring, calibrate field instruments, and aid in the commissioning of
EPMS/BMS
monitoring systems. This position is vital to ensuring that cooling, power, and life safety systems are accurately monitored before facility turnover. Reporting to the site Commissioning/Controls Lead, you will work alongside mechanical fitters, electricians, and engineers. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who can interpret loop diagrams and control drawings while pursuing growth in mission-critical construction. Core Responsibilities Execute the installation, labeling, and termination of control and instrumentation wiring in accordance with project specifications. Perform field instrument calibration for pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors to help maintain high data accuracy for the facility. Assist with point-to-point checkout and installation of
EPMS/BMS
control devices and panels. Identify and resolve communication, calibration, and wiring challenges during the startup and commissioning phases. Analyze and interpret control schematics, loop diagrams, and P&IDs. Collaborate with mechanical and electrical trades to effectively sequence I&C tasks alongside other site operations. Maintain comprehensive records of checkouts, punch list items, and calibration results to support the commissioning team. Provide regular updates on project status and potential obstacles to site management and the Controls/Commissioning Lead. Help foster a secure working environment by strictly adhering to all project quality standards and site safety protocols. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as an I&C Technician, ideally within industrial, data center, or mission-critical environments. Practical understanding of loop checkout procedures, instrument calibration, and control wiring. Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, control drawings, and P&IDs. Operational familiarity with
EPMS/BMS
platforms such as Metasys, Niagara, or comparable systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities. Comfort working in a dynamic construction setting alongside diverse cross-functional teams. Demonstrated commitment to safety and a high level of attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience working on hyperscale or data center construction sites. Possession of an instrumentation credential or NICET certification. Knowledge of Level 3/4/5 commissioning procedures for critical facilities. Experience working with building automation or fire/life safety systems. Current OSHA 10 or 30 certification. Education A GED or high school diploma is required. We prefer candidates who have completed technical or vocational training, or hold an associate degree in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or a related field.
