Job Description
About the role The Electronics Repair Technician will work within our Board Testing Department. They will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks aimed at PCB assembly, repairs, and inspection. Enhancing our test systems and ensuring the quality of our electrical components. Responsibilities Test PCBA's for failures; Repair / Rework defects and Inspect PCB Electronic Assemblies for defects; solder quality, parts alignment, missing parts, visual damage, etc. Fault finding to component level and repair as required per applicable IPC standards. Set up, calibration and use of electronic systems, devices, manual and automated test equipment. Ability to follow detailed instructions and read complex electronic digital/analogue circuit diagrams and schematics. Perform routine SMT soldering and desoldering of fine pitch electronic components on Printed Circuit Boards under a microscope. Monitor and report on project progress. Support engineering/quality investigations and project work when required. Build prototype models based on technical guidelines. Assist in designing and building test systems under the direction of the electrical engineering team. Qualifications Effective communication with operators, engineers and inspectors to understand problems and provide progress updates. Minimum of 2-3 years of direct relevant experience troubleshooting and repairing PCB Assemblies Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and devise solutions Observational skills to notice potential problems during service checks Demonstrated proficiency at interpreting diagrams and schematics Written communication skills to keep accurate, easy-to-understand reports Ability to operate tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers, soldering stations, precision screwdrivers, rotary tools and 3D printers, and to distinguish between various colors of wiring Preferred Experience AA degree in electronic technology, apprenticeship or post-secondary certificate in a similar technical field Schedule Monday -
