Technical Specialist Iin GAC Savannah Unique Skills:
Role Overview The Design Integrity Technical Specialist I provides support in the creation, verification, and checking of engineering data to ensure compliance with Gulfstream requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations. This role focuses on 3D model development, engineering data validation, and the application of design best practices. Primary Responsibilities Standard Part and Model Support- Create accurate 3D models of Gulfstream standard parts, industry-standard parts, and supplier-provided components using CATIA V5 and SmarTeam.
- Verify 3D models against design data to ensure correct geometry and representation. Engineering Data Checking
- Review and validate 2D engineering drawings and 3D MBD models, including associated PLM data, for compliance with Gulfstream standards.
- Evaluate parts for fit, form, and function based on available information.
- Determine data acceptability in the following areas:
- Accuracy and completeness of CAD and PDM product definition data.
- Compliance with engineering and customer drawing requirements.
- Correct application of GD&T per
ASME Y14.5.
- Appropriate dimensioning, tolerancing, drafting, and design practices.
- Alignment with aircraft fabrication methods and best practices.
- Provide guidance to design personnel regarding Gulfstream drawing and design standards.
- Familiarity with Gulfstream parts lists and drawing repositories is beneficial. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Check designs for complex aircraft mechanical structures, systems, and electrical routings.
- Ensure designs meet customer, quality, and FAA requirements.
- Support adherence to project budgets and schedules.
- Provide design feedback and technical guidance to engineering teams. Critical Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in
CATIA V5
for part creation.- Experience loading and managing PLM data in SmarTeam and/or Teamcenter (other PLM systems acceptable).
- Knowledge of both 2D and 3D industry design and documentation standards.
- Experience with PLM processes and tools.
- Familiarity with CATIA V5, SmarTeam, and other CAD datasets within Gulfstream requirements.
- Understanding of mechanical assemblies and manufacturing design techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
- Strong communication and problemsolving skills.

Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects . Provides specialized technical assistance to team members . Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems . Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives . Works under limited supervision; work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives . Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area .Additional Functions:
Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements . Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product . Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
