Field Repair Technician Boston Dynamics - 5.0 Savannah, GA Job Details $28 - $35 an hour 21 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Digital multimeters Engineering testing Electrical schematic reading and interpretation Electronics voltage testing Mechanical drawings Precision assembly Full Job Description Role Overview We are looking for highly skilled Field Repair Technicians who can work as key members of our multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot, test, and repair complex robotic systems for our on-site Atlas fleet at the Robotic Mobile Application Center (RMAC). This role is a unique blend of mechanical assembly and sophisticated electronic troubleshooting. You will be responsible for maintaining our humanoid platform, ensuring that one of the world's most advanced humanoid robots maintains peak performance during rigorous testing cycles.
Key Responsibilities Mechanical Systems:
Perform complex repairs and preventive maintenance on high-performance humanoid robots.
Precision Tooling:
Utilize hand tools and torque wrenches to meet exacting tolerances; Atlas requires extreme precision to maintain balance and structural integrity.
Diagnostics:
Use laptop computers, multimeters and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot power distribution systems, sensor arrays, and communication bus issues.
Hardware-Software Integration:
Work within a Linux environment to run system checks, utilizing BASH scripts and Python routines to verify hardware health after repairs.
Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across engineering, software, and operations to resolve issues and maintain maximum robot uptime.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, tracking consumption and availability to ensure operational readiness for all repair tasks.
Required Skills:
Mechanical Expertise:
Extensive experience with mechanical assembly and teardowns.
Electrical Fundamentals:
Proficiency in reading schematics and using a multimeter for continuity and voltage testing.
Technical Literacy:
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and BOMs (Bill of Materials). Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
Desired Skills:
Software:
Comfort with Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) command-line operations. Experience in Automotive, Aviation or specialty repair and maintenance.
Programming:
Ability to read/write basic BASH and Python for automation of repetitive test sequences.
Specialized Systems:
Experience with high-voltage battery systems and complex electro-mechanical systems.
Schedule:
1st shift role with the ability to cover 2nd shift as needed Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted. Travel Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time, predominantly to the Boston area for training The pay range for this position is between $28 to $35 per hour. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
