You step into your fully equipped mobile repair truck—your workshop on wheels—where trays of surgical instruments await their return to peak performance. By afternoon, you're polishing edges, reshaping hinge points, and documenting your work. Before the day ends, you complete your reports and head to the next Customer site, ready to do it again tomorrow. What you'll tackle Inspect, repair, and refurbish surgical instruments in the field at Customer sites and regional labs serving dense markets.
Perform core restoration tasks:
ultrasonic cleaning, buffing and polishing, bending and shaping, sharpening, hinge point and serration work, and brazing. Complete Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) as needed within your training and capability level. Provide invoicing, work orders, and daily documentation to meet contractual, Customer, and regulatory standards, including end-of-day reporting such as the OAR. Travel and logistics This role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle. While you'll spend most of your day inside the mobile repair truck, frequent trips into the hospital are part of the routine. Occasional overnight travel may be required. If offered this position, STERIS will run a 7 year driving record check, as part of our onboarding process. Safety and compliance Operate the on-location repair truck in alignment with DOT, company, and Customer protocols, following all vehicle and equipment safety procedures. Follow company safety and health policies, wear required PPE, and complete safety observations as directed on each site. Deliver timely, high-quality repairs that meet compliance standards and elevate the Customer experience. Territory support Provide service to various locations within your assigned territory, adapting to service agreements, Customer priorities, and staffing needs.
