Job Description

Automation ElectricianPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical and control systems in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will work on DC and AC systems, motor-generator sets, and PLC-based control equipment (Allen-Bradley), and will be responsible for programing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe, reliable plant operation.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair electrical power distribution, control panels, motor-generator (M-G) sets, and DC systems.

Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs and control systems, with emphasis on Allen-Bradley platforms.

Perform diagnostic testing, commissioning, and functional testing of electrical and control equipment.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs to support repairs and modifications.

Troubleshoot and resolve faults in motors, drives, sensors, thermocouples, and instrumentation.

Use appropriate tools and equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and calibrators to test voltage, continuity, insulation, and signal integrity.

Perform preventive maintenance and repair work to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Execute safe hot-work tasks such as brazing or soldering with a gas torch when required, following all safety procedures.

Document work performed, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and communicate status and recommendations to supervisors and engineering.

Follow lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications3+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance or a similar manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with DC systems, motor-generator (M-G) sets, and variable frequency drives.

Proven ability to program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs and control systems, especially Allen-Bradley controllers.

Experience with thermocouple installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
