ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC
(TITLE 32), WG-2610-12/13, you will install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibre, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integred electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Major Duties
  • This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on multi-complex electronic integred systems, to include operional checks, inspections, tests, troubleshooting, and LRU removal and replacement.
Install serviceable components into aircraft and perform total systems alignment and harmonizion in accordance with technical orders and directives. Adjust, align, calibre, and inspect sensors, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, computers, and reled avionics components. Maintain, modify, calibre, and inspect user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) and reled support equipment. Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, repair, rebuild, align, and calibre complete electronic avionics multi-systems control to ensure proper operion. Trace and isole unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schemics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and associed specificions. Follow drawings for multi-system complexes to determine effects of subsystem changes and identify required adjustments for integred subsystems. Interpret schemics, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams to identify faulty parts, determine repair sequence, and conduct bench checks of LRUs and SRUs. Apply technical da, equipment specificions, and engineering drawings to determine the impact of equipment modificions or substitutions on multi-system operions. Review and analyze maintenance da and diagrams to determine adequacy of troubleshooting/repair procedures and recommend corrections as required. Isole malfunctions through analysis of fault codes, waveform observions, voltage/current indicions, power readings, computer registers, and printouts. Troubleshoot operional malfunctions using aircrew debrief da, built-in system tests, technical orders, test equipment, and system-specific analyzers. Test and troubleshoot solid-ste electronic assemblies, circuit cards, modules, control amplifiers, integred circuits, and electro-mechanical assemblies. Analyze system performance and monitor interreled systems to propose preventive maintenance downtime, system adjustments, or component overhaul. Determine required repairs by evaluing equipment failure trends and recommending changes to improve system operion or reliability. Use a wide variety of electrical hand tools and automic test equipment (ATE, FLTS, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, alignment tools, digital pitot-stic testers, etc.) to perform maintenance and verify repairs. Perform alignment, calibrion, testing, programming, reprogramming, assembly, and reassembly of LRUs, SRUs, and multi-system components. Perform intrice component alignment and calibrion on ECM equipment, chaff/flare systems, navigion systems, and automic flight control components. Apply algebraic and trigonometric formulas to adapt standard calculions and complete multi-system alignment, power relionships, and signal phasing requirements. Accomplish technical order compliance, complete system checks, document maintenance actions, process repairable assets, and configure mission-essential electronic warfare/avionics equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

  • MUST possess specialized experience which includesexperience or training demonstring the ability to repair, overhaul, rebuild, align, and adjust complete multi-systems-such as electronics packages on highly automed aircraft where functions like target acquisition, weapons control, aircraft titude control, and navigion are performed by multiple interconnected systems with feedback loops-by applying comprehensive knowledge of all major units, their independent functions, subsystem interfaces, and interactions; determining proper operional sequencing to pinpoint malfunctions; applying extensive practical knowledge of electromagnetic propagion, electronic circuits, computer theory, and hydraulic/pneumic power systems; understanding interactions among closely integred systems; using trigonometry to calcule power relionships and signal phasing; interpreting multisystem drawings including complex interconnections; isoling malfunctions across integred fire control, bombing-navigion, flight control, countermeasures, or similar systems; determining repair methods for complex circuit relionships; and performing on•or off-equipment maintenance on complete electronic integred systems such as automic flight control, instrument, inertial, or radar navigion systems.

  • MUST experience or training demonstring the ability to repair, align, and adjust major integred electronic systems such as inertial navigion, automic flight control, or fire control systems; extensive knowledge of electronic, pneumic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems to understand and predict progressive effects of malfunctions across interreled units and assist lower-grade employees; thorough knowledge of electronic theories and practices applied to complex integred systems such as fire control, inertial navigion, or automic landing control; broad knowledge of radar, digital/analog computers, and display devices and the technology th integres these into a functional system; knowledge of algebra and basic trigonometry to adapt formulas; ability to follow drawings for integred systems and trace subsystem interactions; and the ability to diagnose and determine necessary repairs for malfunctions where full-system knowledge is required to interpret error da and trace deficiencies.
