Job Description

Bench Technician - Electro-Mechanical Components Job Description - Bench Technician is responsible for the servicing and repair of small diesel locomotive electro-mechanical components and trainline cables. Process includes the disassembly, repair and re-assembly of each component. Responsibilities Perform the inspection, analysis and servicing of components for repair Read and understand repair procedures On the job training is provided with written instructions as a resource Clean sub-components using a parts washer, manual surface cleaning and bead blasting with an enclosed blasting cabinet Recoating of cleaned sub-components Use of basic hand tools to disassemble parts (employee provided) Maintain a clean and orderly bench/work area Follow all safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment Follow all quality standards needed in the repair process Complete all tasks as assigned Requirements Proper usage of digital multimeters and power supplies Ability to properly use hand tools Provide own hand tools Ability to read and understand repair and test procedures Attention to detail Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds Must take direction and work with others Complete necessary paperwork to verify repair and testing of component Associates or certificate in EE or comparable suggested Valid driver's license High School Diploma or equivalent required Must pass drug test and physical Forklift experience a plus Willingness to perform various required tasks Proven experience servicing mechanical equipment is required Benefits Health Plan Paid Holidays Paid personal time off Paid Vacation Hours Monday thru Friday - 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
