Job Description
Automation Technician RWC, Inc. RWC, Inc., a global leader in the design and production of innovative manufacturing systems is accepting resumes for an Automation Technician. Job Summary:
Assure that hardware/software is functioning per RWC's and customer's specifications and is ready for final check out and test according to the test plan for the machine. This includes check out and troubleshooting of the hardware/software.Essential Functions:
Actively participates in project meetings as assigned. Provides and directs startup service, including machine set-up to job specifications, repairs and training at customers' facility when assigned. Performs installation of necessary field changes when required and communicates field changes to Engineering. Performs other Machine Builder duties as assigned. Participates in the development and active implementation of test plans. Assures final set-up of machine prior to customer runoff and shipment. Checks valve functions, tooling alignments, cylinders, etc. Identifies product problems and coordinates with the necessary departments to arrive at solutions. Operates all machinery assigned to the Machine Assembly Department. Write clear, comprehensive and timely service reports. Reviews necessary guarding and safety requirements to ensure that equipment is thoroughly guarded prior to shipment. Assists with guarding as pertains to aspects within area(s) of responsibility. Trouble shoots electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and fluid circuitry, interprets drawings and incorporates needed changes (usually with Engineering approval). Inspects the machines and makes recommendations for structural and operational integrity, component layout, general appearance and machine efficiency. Inspects and identifies variations in customer-supplied sample parts and plans for their efficient utilization. Sets up, obtains and records all pertinent information regarding machine characteristics and operating parameters, including the set-up, operation, understanding and interpretations of necessary instruments, by the use of required instruments. Assists management with training/development of less-experienced members within the classification. Ensures continuity is maintained among work crews/shifts through accurate and timely communication.Essential Qualifications:
Must possess basic knowledge and understanding of automation dealing with electro mechanical devices. Must have the ability to efficiently interpret mechanical, electrical and fluid power drawings and schematics. Must have fundamental knowledge and understanding of electrical and fluid power principles. Must have basic knowledge and application of all types of welding. Must be able to work in a teamwork environment to meet our customers requirements. Must either possess or be able to acquire knowledge of basic computer skills and the ability to adapt to all applicable software that is required for the Company's operations in the Technician I Classification. Must have familiarization with electrical tools. Must either possess or be able to acquire effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to work with employees within the company as well as customers and vendors related to performing the essential job functions of this classification. Must be able to travel independently to and from customers job sites to meet the customers requirements. Must be able to pass the Technician I test.
