Full Job Description Job Summary:
If you're passionate about precision electronics, high-performance engines, and cutting-edge motorsports technology, this is your opportunity to get hands-on with the systems that power championship-winning performance. As an Electrical Technician, you will build, test, troubleshoot, and refine sophisticated electrical systems that support Ilmor's world-class racing and marine engine programs. From crafting motorsport-grade wiring harnesses to diagnosing complex electrical issues in engine test cells and on-water applications, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and innovation that define every Ilmor product. This position combines technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-performance engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Disassemble, clean, and inspect engine electrical components. Assemble and test electrical wire harnesses and electronic assemblies. Connect sensors, harnesses, and connector boxes to test equipment; verify function, continuity, and insulation resistance (hi-pot) against specifications. Perform minor repairs on engine looms and sensors as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems in engine test cells and boat installations. Operate and interpret results from standard electronic test equipment (e.g., DMM, oscilloscope, function generators). Understand and work with CAN-based networks such as NMEA 2000 and J1939. Interpret electrical schematics and pin-to-pin drawings for precise assembly. Apply aerospace and custom motorsport-level wiring standards and techniques.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Vocational or Associates in electrical engineering. Electrical drawing skills is a benefit Strong computer skills MS Office Word/Excel/Visio etc. Strong understanding of electrical theory and electronic components. Proficient in electrical diagnostics and fault-finding. Experience with high-performance or racing electrical systems preferred. Familiarity with industry safety and quality standards.
Nuts and Bolts:

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, some instances of this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary.
