Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM Overview Our client, a global leader in the medical device industry, has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift Engineering Test Technician for a 12-month+ contract opportunity . A typical day will include performing predefined testing on various medical devices, consoles, and consumables while ensuring movement of tests between device washing and autoclave steps. Due to the size of the shift, most days will require semi-independent reprioritization based on workload and test availability. The Engineering Test Technician performs testing on raw materials, finished products, and equipment to determine quality levels and standards that become part of product specifications. Responsibilities Conduct in-house testing on medical devices, consoles, consumables, raw materials, finished products, and equipment. Review test requests and reports from internal and external customers. Assist with the design, construction, programming, integration, and validation of test systems. Maintain accurate testing records in accordance with company specifications. Utilize appropriate software and technological tools to maintain testing records. Understand, maintain, and operate testing systems. Apply appropriate testing procedures and techniques while building test fixtures and executing tests. Identify opportunities to improve test systems, procedures, and techniques. Understand and apply lab performance metrics. Provide recommendations for continuously improving Test Lab performance. Maintain accountability and fitness of Test Lab equipment. Reprioritize testing activities based on workload and test availability. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, metrology, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Reading, math, statistical, interpersonal, time-management, listening, and auditing skills. Windows computer skills. Documentation and team-based work skills. Basic preventative maintenance knowledge. Ability to follow safety requirements, including good housekeeping and ergonomics practices. May require setup skills, including following prints and product specifications. Familiarity with PLC and LabVIEW programming preferred. Basic measurement skills using sensors including pressure, strain, acceleration, load, current, and voltage. Ability to read technical material and determine the appropriate computer program or report. Ability to work within production and delivery schedule constraints. Closed-toe/heel shoes must be worn on the production floor and in R&D labs; safety shoes are recommended.
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
