Electronic Monitoring (EM) Field Technician Position Type 1099 Independent Contractor Schedule As-needed. You will be contacted/dispatched only when a job is available in your area. No fixed shifts. Location Field-based — travel to courthouses, bail bond offices, residences, and other approved locations within your service area Service Area Central North Carolina, including Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Nash, Orange, Person, Wake counties. Reports To Bond Secure Tracking Solutions LLC Dispatch/Operations About the Role Bond Secure Tracking Solutions LLC provides court- and bail-ordered GPS ankle monitoring devices across the Triangle region. We're hiring dependable field technicians to install, fit, and service these devices for clients on an as-needed basis. What You'll Do Travel to the assigned location (court, bail bond office, residence, or other approved site) to meet the client (defendant) at the scheduled time. Fit and securely install the GPS ankle monitoring device according to manufacturer and company protocol. Verify the device powers on, syncs with the monitoring platform, and transmits an accurate signal before leaving the site. Explain device care, charging requirements, and restrictions to the wearer in clear, professional language. Document the installation (photos, device ID, start date/time, signature) and submit confirmation to dispatch. Perform device removals, battery/strap replacements, or troubleshooting visits as assigned. Maintain a professional, neutral, and non-confrontational demeanor at all times — you are representing the company, the referring bail bond agency, and the court. Safeguard client information and device inventory in accordance with company policy. What We're Looking For Comfortable working directly with justice-involved individuals in a professional, de-escalation-minded manner. Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance. Smartphone for scheduling, photo documentation, and communication with dispatch. Basic comfort with hands-on equipment (fitting straps/hardware, using simple tools, following device checklists); no specialized electrical wiring skills required. Punctual and responsive — able to accept or decline individual job offers promptly and show up on time when a job is accepted. Able to pass a background check; must not have any restriction that would prevent contact with justice-involved individuals or presence at court facilities. 18 years of age or older; authorized to work in the U.S. as an independent contractor. Prior experience in law enforcement, corrections, detention, probation/parole, private security, or a related field is strongly preferred (including current or retired sheriff's deputies and officers).
