Job Description

Description Primary Function Perform electrical, mechanical technical duties involving assembly, continuity testing, installation, operation and maintenance of complex electronic assemblies. Perform assembly and wiring operations on electro-mechanical chassis, consoles, cables, and systems associated with moderately complex first article, prototype, or limited production equipment from manufacturing information and where procedures are established. Working Procedure Assemble and wire, using schematics and/or wire lists, complete electro-mechanical assemblies forming all necessary cabling, wire, and routing per drawing. Certified to

Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies Perform final cleanup and dress out and pre-Quality inspections of Chassis type Electro mechanical assemblies. Inspect to IPC-A-620, FOD, and ESD procedures and requirements Perform final assembly on electro-mechanical chassis type assemblies. Perform necessary fitting and aligning of all mechanical and electrical components Build cable assemblies, cut wire to length, terminate crimp or solder circular or D-series connectors, run and terminate braid and final heat shrink. Perform circuit check on completed assemblies. Perform refurbishment and modifications of fielded equipment. Perform bench repair on identified defective items, such as rewiring incorrect connections, removing and replacing defective wires and components, re-soldering connection, redressing and retying wire runs, etc. Execute Engineering changes from revision notices and make any repairs including adding and/or removing wires and/or components. Assemble various mechanical parts, panels, doors, hinges, frames, etc on airborne and ground chassis assemblies Optional Electrician Skills (in addition to) - Installation, testing, operation, maintenance and repair of electrically operated equipment together with associated distribution networks and components. In addition, there may be required routine maintenance on electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment in high places using man lifts. Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area. Must be able to wire Line Replaceable Units with no guidance other than a drawing, schematic and wire list. Will need to travel up to HQ in MD to see the shop environment that what they are trying to set up in EC Must be able to work with little direction and supervision, while understanding end unit assembly quality and functionality. Able to work in a high paced, team environment with Engineering, Quality and Logistics. Previous soldering certification to J-STD-001 and certification to
IPC-A-620
strongly desired. strongly desired. Experience with point to point wiring to schematics and wire lists is required Computer skills required. MS Office suite skills preferred. Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Elizabeth City, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
