Job Description
Job Overview We're looking for a hands-on Mechanical Component Repair Technician who has real shop experience repairing, troubleshooting, and rebuilding mechanical parts, tools, or equipment. This is a good fit for someone who has done more than basic assembly or general labor, but is not looking for a desk, engineering, or management role. The right person enjoys detailed repair work, can think through mechanical problems, and is comfortable using tools and shop equipment to bring damaged components back to working condition. Relevant backgrounds may include automotive repair, equipment repair, machining, fabrication, maintenance, welding/brazing, mechanical overhaul, or similar hands-on repair environments. What You'll Do Perform hands-on repair, overhaul, cleaning, testing, and mechanical work on components Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify practical repair solutions Use hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, fixtures, and testing equipment Inspect parts, hardware, threads, fittings, housings, and assemblies for wear, damage, or repair needs Remove damaged fasteners, clean up or repair threads, fit parts, and prepare components for reassembly Support specialized repair processes such as brazing, pressure testing, fixture setup, mechanical assembly, and component repair Follow work instructions, manuals, technical drawings, and repair procedures Accurately document work performed in line with quality and regulatory requirements What We're Looking For Hands-on mechanical repair experience in a shop, maintenance, automotive, fabrication, machining, equipment repair, or similar environment Ability to use tools with accuracy, patience, and attention to detail Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues, not just replacing parts Comfortable working with small parts, fittings, hardware, threads, housings, and assemblies Able to follow written repair instructions and document work clearly Reliable, coachable, and willing to learn specialized repair processes Able to work independently once trained while still asking questions when needed Strong Fit For This Role This role may be a strong fit if you have experience with: Automotive or equipment repair beyond basic service work Removing broken bolts or damaged fasteners Repairing or cleaning up threads Using drills, taps, dies, extractors, grinders, presses, or shop equipment Mechanical assembly, disassembly, inspection, and rework Brazing, soldering, pressure testing, fabrication, or fixture setup Repairing damaged tools, parts, fittings, housings, or small mechanical assemblies Preferred, But Not Required Experience in aviation, MRO, component repair, overhaul, manufacturing, machining, or equipment maintenance Familiarity with technical manuals, work instructions, drawings, or repair procedures Experience with brazing, pressure testing, fixture setup, or precision mechanical repair

From $19.00 per hour
