Electronics Lab Technician Location:
Raleigh, NC Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00
PM Work Arrangement:
100%
Onsite Contract:
Through approximately October, with potential opportunity for conversion to full-time based on performance and business needs
Start:
Immediate Position Overview We are seeking an Electronics Lab Technician to support hands-on testing and troubleshooting activities in a high-power electrical laboratory environment. The position will focus on electrical/electronic testing, equipment setup, data collection, troubleshooting, and documentation. There are opportunities supporting two primary areas: Battery/UPS Testing and R&D/Testing . Key Responsibilities Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment. Support testing of UPS systems and battery systems , including lithium-ion batteries where applicable. Set up test equipment and test configurations according to established procedures. Use electrical test and measurement equipment such as: Oscilloscopes Digital/power meters Digital multimeters and related test equipment Collect, record, and analyze test data. Document test results, observations, issues, and findings accurately. Troubleshoot electrical and electronic problems and assist in identifying root causes. Follow established testing procedures, safety requirements, and laboratory protocols. Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members during testing activities. Communicate technical findings and test results clearly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Support special testing projects and other technical assignments as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma/GED required. An Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is a plus. Approximately 6 years of relevant hands-on experience may substitute for an Associate degree. Candidates with an Associate degree may be considered with less experience depending on their technical background. Strong understanding of basic electrical and electronics principles. Hands-on experience with electrical/electronic testing and troubleshooting. Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, and multimeters . Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures. Preferred Experience UPS testing Lithium-ion battery testing Battery systems Power electronics High-power electrical laboratory environments R&D or product testing Electrical troubleshooting Military electronics/electrical experience Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to work 100% onsite in a laboratory environment. Comfortable working around high-power electrical equipment while following all safety procedures. Ability to climb ladders as required. Ability to walk/stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory/testing environment. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone with genuine hands-on electrical/electronics testing experience , not just classroom or theoretical knowledge. Candidates should be able to clearly explain the equipment they have worked with, the tests they performed, how they used test instruments, and how they approached troubleshooting.
