$55,000 - $65,000 Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater. All regular positions also entitle the employee to several benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement which is largely paid by New Mexico Tech for the employee and dependents.

JOB SUMMARY:
Instrumentation Engineer will work with a team of engineers and technicians to design, build, field, operate and maintain sensors, electronic instruments, data acquisition equipment, and control systems to support energetic materials research and testing ate the EMRTC test site and other sites as required. This work will require circuit design, fabrication and programming of unique electronic packages for many types of instruments. This position also requires working in the EMRTC field laboratory, running data acquisition systems, cabling, installing connectors, troubleshooting electronic equipment, high speed digital camera set up, operation and maintenance. Working with accelerometers, blast instrumentation and other diagnostic equipment
JOB FUNCTIONS
Design and fabrication of electronic instrumentation Prepare, transport, set up, troubleshoot and operate instrumentation systems to include the following: data acquisition systems, flash x-ray, doppler radar, and high-speed cameras. Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electronic instrumentation equipment. Assist with testing requirements using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Sciences or Physics. Circuit design, electronics fabrication, programming.
