The Fiber Optic Assembler is responsible for the precision assembly, termination, inspection, polishing, and testing of fiber optic components and cable assemblies.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on precision work and is comfortable working with small components, hand tools, microscopes, and detailed manufacturing instructions. Responsibilities include fiber stripping, cleaving, ribbonization, fusion splicing, connector termination, and quality inspection.
Inspect fiber end faces, splice quality, and assembly workmanship using optical microscopes and inspection equipmentThe role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience handling bare optical fibers.
The technician will also record process data, follow quality and safety procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and support engineering with prototypes, process development, troubleshooting, and yield improvements.2+ years of experience in fiber optic assembly, cable assembly, or optical handling.
Experience with fiber ribbon zing, stripping, cleaving, and fusion splicing.
Ability to work with delicate optical fibers and high-density fiber assemblies.
Familiarity with optical microscopes, inspection tools, and precision hand tools.
