Overview We are seeking a dedicated Wheelchair Repair and Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves performing comprehensive repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wheelchairs and mobility equipment to ensure safety, functionality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical skills, along with a passion for delivering exceptional service in a field service environment. Duties Conduct detailed diagnostics on wheelchairs using electrical schematics, test equipment, and biomedical electronic principles to identify faults. Perform repairs on electro-mechanical components, including motors, batteries, control systems, and structural parts, adhering to biomedical regulatory standards. Calibrate and test wheelchair systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with ISO standards. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, reassemble, and adjust mobility devices efficiently. Maintain accurate records of service activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking repairs and maintenance history. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction during field visits. Follow safety protocols and biomedical engineering best practices to ensure all repairs meet healthcare industry regulations. Skills Proficiency with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and specifications for wheelchair components. Strong electrical diagnostics skills with the ability to interpret electrical schematics accurately. Experience with equipment troubleshooting in a biomedical or healthcare setting. Mechanical knowledge specific to biomedical equipment repair and maintenance. Skilled in using hand tools, calibration devices, and test equipment for biomedical electronics. Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and documentation. Knowledge of ISO standards and biomedical regulatory compliance requirements. Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret engineering troubleshooting diagrams. Experience in field service operations with a focus on customer interaction. Understanding of electro-mechanical components within medical electronics systems. Strong mechanical skills for biomedical equipment repair with attention to detail in calibration procedures.
