Job Scope The Calibration Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the completion of monthly calibration of Acumed gauges. They will write Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for out of tolerance gauges and schedule calibration services from approved Acumed suppliers. Responsibilities include issuing new gauges, organizing gauges in multiple locations, and transporting gauges to appropriate calibration sources. The Calibration Coordinator makes recommendations to improve systems and processes as they relate to calibration services and will cross-train QA Techs in the Calibration Coordinator role. Responsibilities Purchase and issue new gauges with gauge ID numbers for use by Acumed personnel Maintain information and equipment records, such as calibration certificates in the ERP (SAP). Schedule calibration services with approved external suppliers and communicate with them for documentation and other services; create purchase orders with calibration or gauge suppliers as required. Transport equipment and gauges to the appropriate calibration source Peer review and sign in house calibration certificates Provide subject matter expertise and/or calibration documentation during audits. Write and disposition gauge NCRs for out of tolerance gauges. Conduct employee training on calibration coordination as required. Maintain work area cleanliness and organization at all times. Understand, maintain, and update quality system documentation such as work instructions, procedures and other documentation related to calibration services and purchasing. Regular and consistent attendance in alignment with company policies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma, GED or equivalent required Three or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred. General knowledge of machine processes preferred. Understanding of ISO and FDA regulations as they relate to calibration and audits. Intermediate knowledge and understanding of Quality concepts and Quality Control tools. Ability to use and maintain precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gage pins, optical comparators, and other inspection equipment. Prior experience calibrating and/or troubleshooting Starrett comparators highly preferred. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications related to manufactured products. Demonstrated ability to work as a team contributor. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong organizational skills - maintain an organized, neat clean work environment. High level of self-motivation. Able and willing to seek out opportunities and to ask questions as needed. Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities. Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat required; ability to use Excel to perform statistical analysis and modify PDFs. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read work instructions, specifications and procedures and complete all paperwork. General knowledge / understanding of Acumed products and their applications.
