Full Job Description Role Summary:
Provides patient-centered nursing care under supervision, collaborating with the healthcare team to diagnose and treat health responses. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring coordination with other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment:
Performs comprehensive multi-system assessments, monitors deviations from normal, and conducts discharge assessments.
Planning:
Develops individualized care and teaching plans, coordinates care and discharge activities, delegates tasks appropriately, and prioritizes patient needs.
Implementation:
Initiates protocols for medical and surgical management, accurately documents care, performs procedures correctly, administers medications, and responds to emergencies.
Evaluation:
Assesses effectiveness of care, evaluates patient responses, and participates in quality assurance activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum nine months RN experience, with one year in ED or completion of ED internship. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licenses & Certifications:
RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS or Pediatric Course within 6 months, TNCC preferred. Additional skills include computer proficiency and pediatric emergency courses.
Preferred:
healthcare experience, bachelor's degree, certifications like CEN, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
