1st and 2ndShift Automotive Tech Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our production equipment and facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting electrical systems, along with mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to maintenance.Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits and PLC systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures with an intermediate level of skill
- Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic and mechanical schematics
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and tasks to minimize downtime
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in equipment reliability and facility upkeep
- Fixing machinery, plumbing and heating as needed.
- Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with a team of security professional.
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs and safety for the leadership team.
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.
- Collaborating on budgeting for facilities needs with the leadership team.
- Keeping buildings running smoothly by repairing wiring, replacing light bulbs and installing new equipment.
- Solve mechanical and electrical problems in the building systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (preferred)- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems and mechanical components
- Working knowledge of PLC logic and controls (Siemens preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to equipment reliability
