FirstOption Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Fiber Splicer to join a growing team. If you take pride in accurate, high-quality work and are comfortable working both outdoors and from a mobile splicing lab, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

Perform core-alignment fusion splicing using 6-motor fusion splicers, including Fujikura, Sumitomo, INNO, or Signal Fire equipment. Prepare OSP fiber cable, including buffer tube slitting, loose-tube preparation, and armor stripping. Build and install OSP fiber enclosures, including FOSC-B/D, flowerpots, and pedestals. Perform OTDR testing and troubleshooting using dual-wavelength testing at 1310/1550nm. Use launch/receive boxes and visual fault locators while maintaining accurate field documentation, including photos and test traces. Maintain high standards for quality, productivity, safety, and customer/site requirements while working independently in field conditions.

Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience as a Fiber Splicer or Lead Fiber Splicer. Strong experience operating 6-motor core-alignment fusion splicers with the ability to achieve splice loss targets of ≤ 0.1 dB. Experience with OSP fiber cable preparation and enclosure construction. Proficiency with OTDR testing at 1310/1550nm, launch/receive boxes, and visual fault locators. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and comfortably work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must follow all required PPE, safety, and customer/site guidelines. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
