Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures that trucks, tools, and assigned equipment are properly used and maintained. Climbs poles and operates out of a bucket truck. Operate and maintain all line equipment. Bypass breakers in substations and downstream devices. Performs transmission switching with the Generation and Transmission provider. Provides training and leadership for Apprentice Linemen. Works on troubleshooting overhead and underground lines in energized and de-energized states. Ensures that all safety procedures and precautions are followed. Satisfies call-out rotation, duties, and responsibilities. Maintains transformer, meter, and light inventory on trucks. Provides on-the-job training to trainees and other subordinates, and helpers. Resides within a reasonable response time distance (approx. 15 minutes) to the service area. Performs advanced troubleshooting skills. Thorough knowledge and application of cooperative, NESC, NEC, REA, OSHA, state, and other regulatory agency procedures and rules in the performance of all work. Thorough knowledge of cooperative departments and procedures, which is gained through participation in a cooperative cross-training program. Expected to fill in during crew supervisor absences. Thorough knowledge of Bluebonnet policies and guidelines. Uses experience and independent judgment to research and resolve complex problems related to work orders and member accounts. General awareness of current developments in areas of interest to the department. Required to be available to work weekends, holidays, and non-standard hours as needed, outside of normal call-out rotation. Maintain professional working relationships with all employees, members, and vendors at all times. Maintain regular attendance; arrives to work on time and is ready to work. Use safe work practices at all times and in all situations. Must be able to appropriately handle confidential information and act within the practices established by the Bluebonnet Red Flag policy.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in the utility industry and/or equivalent education.

Licensing and Certification:

• DOL Journeyman Lineworker certification.
• Must be certified in CPR, First Aid, AED and Blood-borne pathogens.
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License.
