Nyati Services, LLC is an industrial automation and modular solutions OEM specializing in engineering, design, manufacturing, integration, and commissioning of complete electrical and control systems. Our capabilities span
PLC/HMI/SCADA
programming, UL-certified panel fabrication, instrumentation, FAT, modular facility manufacturing, field installation, startup, and commissioning. Nyati manufactures E-Houses, PDCs, MCCs, control buildings, process skids, and custom industrial modular buildings. Serving energy, power, industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, hydrogen, water/wastewater, and other markets, we deliver turnkey solutions from concept through commissioning. We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support industrial construction, commissioning, startup, maintenance, and service activities. The Automation Technician works closely with Automation Programmers, Project Managers, and Construction Managers to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, function test, and commission instrumentation and control equipment in the field. This position is ideal for an experienced I&E Technician who has a strong understanding of instrumentation and controls and is comfortable working in an industrial construction environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation and control devices.
  • Perform instrument loop checks, point-to-point checks, functional testing, and commissioning.
  • Work closely with Automation Programmers to troubleshoot field devices, I/O, communications, and control system issues.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control devices using tools including:
HART 475
Communicator TREX Communicator Digital and process multimeters IP/network sniffers and diagnostic tools Various hand tools and test equipment Other field-based instrumentation and communication equipment
  • Assist with startup and commissioning activities and provide field feedback to Automation Programmers.
  • Perform minor changes to PLC programs, control logic, and HMI configurations when directed and within the employee's level of authorization and competency.
  • Identify and report equipment, wiring, programming, or communication issues to Automation Programmers, Project Managers, and Construction Managers.
  • Support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, commissioning, maintenance, service calls, and general site support.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, instrument data sheets, termination drawings, and other project documentation.
  • Verify installation and functionality of instruments, control devices, and associated wiring.
  • Complete required documentation, test sheets, commissioning records, and punch-list items accurately.
  • Ensure required Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and other safety requirements are completed prior to beginning work.
  • Maintain assigned tools, test equipment, and materials in good working condition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Uphold Nyati's standards for craftsmanship, quality, safety, and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E), Controls, Automation, or a related industrial field preferred.
  • Experience working in industrial construction, commissioning, startup, maintenance, or service environments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
  • Experience calibrating and troubleshooting transmitters, switches, control valves, analyzers, and other field instrumentation.
  • Experience performing loop checks, functional testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Working knowledge of 4-20 mA, HART, discrete I/O, and industrial communications.
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical/instrumentation documentation.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networking is preferred.
  • Ability to make minor PLC/HMI changes and troubleshoot basic control logic is preferred.
  • Proficiency using test equipment such as multimeters, HART/TREX communicators, and other instrumentation tools.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a larger project team.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass client-specific site requirements, background checks, drug screening, and safety orientations as required.
What We're Looking For We are looking for a hands-on Automation Technician who can think through a problem in the field. You should be comfortable troubleshooting a device, tracing a signal, communicating the issue to a programmer, and working through the problem until the system functions as intended.

  • Understand how field instrumentation interacts with PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.
  • Be comfortable working around industrial construction and operating facilities.

  • Communicate effectively with technicians, programmers, supervisors, project managers, and clients.
  • Pay close attention to details and documentation.
  • Take pride in quality workmanship.
  • Understand that safety and quality are not optional.
  • Be willing to travel and work extended hours or schedules when project requirements dictate.
Work Environment This is a field-based industrial position. Work may be performed at construction sites, industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and operating plants.
The position may require:
  • Working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Working around industrial equipment and construction activities.
  • Climbing ladders and stairs and working from elevated platforms.
  • Working in confined or restricted areas when properly trained and authorized.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting equipment and tools.
  • Working extended hours, weekends, or overtime based on project requirements.
  • Traveling to customer and project locations.
