Job Description
About the Role If you enjoy working with electronics, troubleshooting problems, and using your technical skills to make sure products perform as intended, this role is a great fit. We're looking for a hands-on Electronics Technician who will primarily test electronic modules, circuit boards, and related electronic assemblies used in industrial control equipment and demanding oil & gas applications. This is a technical role for someone who understands electrical and electronic principles, including analog electronics, analog control, and basic digital electronics , and can apply that knowledge to real-world testing and troubleshooting. You'll work with electronic hardware that becomes part of industrial systems such as AC/DC power modules, control boards, SCR systems, drilling equipment, MCCs, and other industrial electrical equipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with electronic hardware, test equipment, soldering tools, schematics, and technical documentation. You'll play an important role in ensuring electronic products meet our company's electronic and electrical standards and are tested accurately and consistently. What You'll Do Test electronic modules, circuit boards, and related electronic assemblies Follow established test, troubleshooting, and calibration procedures Use multimeters, test equipment, and other electronic diagnostic tools to evaluate products Apply electrical and electronic principles to troubleshoot test failures and identify potential issues Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical drawings, and other technical documentation Perform continuity checks, functional testing, and other electrical/electronic tests as required Inspect electronic assemblies for proper connections, components, workmanship, and overall condition Perform soldering, rework, or minor repairs to electronic assemblies as needed Identify, document, and communicate testing issues, failures, or unusual results Maintain test equipment, tools, and work areas in clean, organized, and operable condition Follow all test procedures, safety policies, and required work practices Work with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to resolve testing or product issues What You Bring Hands-on experience with electronics testing, troubleshooting, repair, assembly, or related technical work Ability to solder electronic components and assemblies Strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles, including analog electronics, analog control circuits, and basic digital electronics Ability to apply electrical and electronic principles to troubleshooting and testing Ability to use a multimeter and basic electronic test equipment Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and other electronic documentation Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate testing Ability to follow written test procedures and accurately document results Comfortable working hands-on with circuit boards, electronic modules, wiring, and other electronic hardware Dependability, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently and as part of a team High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics or a related field preferred Willingness and ability to complete a technical assessment demonstrating electrical and electronic knowledge as part of the hiring process Bonus Skills Experience testing electronic modules, control boards, or similar electronic assemblies Experience with electronic test equipment beyond basic multimeter use Experience troubleshooting at the component or circuit-board level Experience with analog electronics, analog control circuits, signal conditioning, or industrial control systems Familiarity with calibration procedures and test documentation Experience with CAD or electronic design software Experience with rework, repair, or modification of electronic assemblies Familiarity with ESD practices and safe handling of electronic components Technical training, certification, or coursework in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field Experience working with industrial control equipment, power electronics, or oil & gas equipment Physical Requirements Ability to work with small electronic components and perform hands-on technical tasks Comfortable sitting or standing at a workstation for extended periods Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for electronics work and soldering Ability to visually inspect electronic components, circuit boards, wiring, and connections Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment as required Why This Role Matters Accurate testing and troubleshooting are critical to the quality and reliability of the industrial electronic equipment we build.
