Job Description
Job Description Insight Global is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer (E&I) to join a client in the engineering consulting industry. This individual will support electrical and instrumentation engineering projects by performing field inspections, validating existing plant conditions, routing cable trays and conduit, and developing installation designs for motors, instruments, and controls. They will prepare engineering calculations and design documentation including loop sheets, elementary drawings, system architecture diagrams, and other wiring schematics while ensuring compliance with project requirements. The Electrical Engineer (E&I) will coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines to deliver cost-effective and reliable solutions for clients. Additional responsibilities include supporting project execution through scope development, procurement coordination, bid package preparation, construction support, startup activities, and project closeout documentation. This individual will maintain strong client relationships, identify opportunities to support client needs, and contribute to business development and team mentoring efforts as needed. - 7+ years of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) engineering experience in an industrial, manufacturing, pulp & paper, chemical, power, or heavy industrial environment
- Experience developing electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and controls designs for capital projects
- Proficiency creating and reviewing loop sheets, one-lines, wiring diagrams, elementary drawings, and control system architecture documentation
- Experience performing field walks, site investigations, and existing-condition verification in operating industrial facilities
- Knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, instrumentation, PLC-based control systems, and industrial communications networks
- Ability to perform electrical engineering calculations and ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes and standards
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams throughout project execution
- Strong project management and client-facing communication skills with experience supporting scope development, procurement, and construction activities
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or PE-track/EIT certification
- Arc Flash analysis experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or industrial electrical design software
- Startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience
- Experience leading capital projects from concept through construction
- Business development or proposal development experience
- Team leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience
