Technician Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced E&I Designer Level
IV / E&I
Technician for a full-time, temporary assignment in Theodore, Alabama. This fully onsite position combines senior-level electrical and instrumentation design with hands-on plant maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, field support, and project coordination.

Paid when required Position SummaryThe E&I Designer Level
IV / E&I
Technician will support industrial plant operations and project execution by developing safe, code-compliant, and constructible electrical and instrumentation solutions. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently on complex assignments, coordinating with plant and project teams, and providing technical guidance to junior personnel.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical and instrumentation systems involving switchgear, relay protection, MCCs, VFDs, lighting, grounding, power distribution, field instrumentation, and controlsPrepare and maintain one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, block diagrams, panel layouts, cable and conduit routing, equipment layouts, and as-built documentationUse AutoCAD to create and revise detailed E&I drawings and design packagesConduct field walks, collect site measurements and equipment information, and verify existing plant conditionsInspect, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical controls, instrumentation, and electronic equipmentSupport preventive and corrective maintenance, failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and reliability improvementsCoordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, crafts, and civil/structural, piping, process, and mechanical disciplines to develop practical, clash-free designsReview work completed by junior designers or technicians for technical accuracy and complianceSupport project schedules and budgets, communicate scope changes, and provide technical leadership during project executionFollow plant safety requirements, applicable codes and standards, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Management of Change (MOC) proceduresQualificationsAt least eight years of industrial electrical/instrumentation design, E&I maintenance, EPC, or closely related experienceHigh school diploma or GED with an associate degree, technical degree, CADD certification, or equivalent relevant training and experience; bachelor's degree is a plusNCCER Electrical Certification Plus requiredNCCER Instrumentation Certification Plus requiredAdvanced AutoCAD proficiencyStrong industrial experience with electrical distribution, controls, field instrumentation, plant equipment, drawings, schematics, and P&IDsAbility to troubleshoot E&I systems using diagnostic tools that measure voltage, current, resistance, temperature, and related inputsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, communicate with plant personnel, and provide technical directionCADWorx 3D, Navisworks, SAP, control valves, and digital, analog, or pneumatic positioner experience preferredWorking ConditionsThis position includes office-based design work and regular work in operating industrial plants and construction areas. Candidates must be able to wear required PPE, complete site walks, climb stairs or ladders, tolerate industrial conditions, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
