We are working with a cleint that is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and manage capital engineering projects across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for all phases of project execution, including feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, procurement, construction management, commissioning, startup, and post-startup optimization. The successful candidate will oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and safe execution while providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a highly skilled engineering professional capable of working independently on technical matters while leading cross-functional teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver successful industrial projects. Key Responsibilities Manage engineering projects from concept through completion, including feasibility analysis, design, procurement, construction, startup, and optimization. Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans. Lead the safe and successful delivery of capital projects in manufacturing environments. Provide technical expertise and engineering oversight throughout all project phases. Coordinate and direct project teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders. Establish productive working relationships across diverse teams and organizations. Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure successful outcomes. Act independently on complex technical engineering matters. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Provide technical and supervisory leadership for capital improvement initiatives. Travel to manufacturing sites as required to support project execution and commissioning activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's Degree preferred. Strong experience designing 480V power distribution systems from transformer through motor connections. Experience with Motor Control Centers (MCCs), including: Local disconnects Motor starters Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Control components Ethernet communications architecture Experience managing the electrical design and installation of large industrial capital projects, ideally exceeding $4 million in value.
Proven ability to develop:
Motor lists Power distribution center (PDC) designs Feeder systems MCC configurations and bucket arrangements VFD and starter sizing Electrical equipment layouts Experience directing engineering firms, designers, and consultants in the development of: Electrical drawings Cable schedules Conduit schedules Equipment room layouts Field routing configurations Ability to establish electrical design standards, architecture, and best practices. Experience performing arc flash and electrical coordination studies. Advanced knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
Strong understanding of:
NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)
NFPA 70E
Industrial safety standards Property loss prevention recommendations Proficiency with: Microsoft Office Microsoft Project AutoCAD EasyPower Ability to work in industrial environments, including: Walking production facilities Climbing ladders and stairs Kneeling and accessing equipment Working in varying temperature conditions Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Seven to ten years of progressive experience leading and executing multi-million-dollar industrial capital projects. Experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments. Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on Electrical Engineer with extensive industrial project experience and a strong background in power distribution, motor controls, and capital project execution. This individual thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, can lead large-scale projects from cradle to grave, and effectively collaborates with operations, maintenance, engineering, and external partners to deliver impactful results.
