Job Description

Vertically integrated, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of equipment for the medical industry and service equipment for the electrical distribution industry has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Controls Engineer. Position is located in Chicago's far southern suburbs.
Essential Duties:
  • Candidate needs to be able to translate customer requirements expressed as physical inputs such as, time, temperature, pressure, flow rate etc., into clear, concise, stable control logic
  • Develop clear, intuitive HMI interface that clearly reflects the customers functional needs
  • Serve as technical resource and liaison for internal/external customers.
  • Provide detailed documentation of solution as expressed through, solid models, technical specifications, drawings, manuals or verbal and written correspondence as required.
  • Take ownership of each project from the stage of initial quote through shipment of deliverable end item and any follow support or documentation
  • Assume a leadership role in the evolution of the existing products to improve performance, reduce cost and continuously exploit opportunities for applying new technology
Core Competencies:
  • 10 more years of experience preferred, technical degree a plus.
  • Software proficiency: Rockwell Studio 5000, Avena In Touch HMI, Microsoft Sequel (familiarity), Microsoft Report Builder, Microsoft Windows (expert level), Solidworks Electrical
  • Familiar with NEC code as it applies to equipment under ASME Section VIII Division 1,2 for explosion proof and intrinsically safe systems
  • Accustomed to working within the regulatory framework of
ISO 11135, 21 CFR
Part 11, 21 CFR Part 820 and FDA General Principles of Software Validation
  • Limited travel domestic/international required
< 5% Compensation commensurate with experience.
