Job Summary:
Salas O'Brien is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a focus in power distribution.
Specific design related services include:
Primary and Secondary Power Distribution Systems Emergency Power Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Facility Assessments Lighting Design Sustainable Design Technologies Electrical System Commissioning Energy Savings Audits and Life Cycle Cost Analysis Infrastructure Master Planning System Documentation Technology Engineering (video, security, data and computer room systems, intercom, and fire alarm) Power System Studies Job duties include: Participate in and support design and/or coordination reviews with clients and other project team members. Collaborate with and support engineers and project managers from a wide array of disciplines across various projects. Support the review and development of project design standards and best practices. Work closely with vendors to support vendor-submitted data for technical reviews and production. Oversee assigned project efforts to ensure adherence to budget and schedule. Perform Power System Studies, including time current coordination, short circuit studies and arc flash hazard analysis. Ensure that the electrical design on projects conform to the requirements of the applicable codes; including National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, and the International Building Code and International Energy Code Effectively utilize computer design software and have a working knowledge of 3-D Modeling/BIM software for design producing construction drawings, and for construction coordination modeling. Travel out of town or out of the United States from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications:
U.S. Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or the foreign degree equivalent A working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, LEED Accredited Professional, SKM Powertools, are preferred but not required at the time of hire.
