Job Description
Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics is seeking a Certification Engineer to support the design and manufacture of advanced aircraft instruments, avionics, and power systems. In this role, you will plan and execute certification test programs, apply FAA/EASA and industry standards, and develop test plans, procedures, and reports. You'll collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to analyze test data, resolve nonconformances, and maintain documentation. Responsibilities Plan and execute certification test programs for instruments, avionics, and power systems Interpret and apply FAA, EASA, and industry standards to product designs Develop test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for new and existing products Coordinate lab, environmental, and EMI/EMC testing with internal teams and external labs Analyze test data, document results, and prepare formal certification reports Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to address nonconformances Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to certification failures Maintain requirements traceability and configuration control of certification artifacts Interface with customers, auditors, and regulatory bodies as needed Drive continuous improvement of certification processes and test methods Required Skills Aerospace certification standards (FAA, EASA) DO-160, DO-178 or similar compliance Test plan development Environmental and EMI/EMC testing Technical report writing Requirements analysis and traceability Risk and safety assessment Root cause and corrective action
