Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Electrical Engineering Intern is to contribute to the Nucor team, focusing on achieving exceptional results in the areas of safety, cost, and reliability. The role will be hands-on and interactive with the maintenance and production teams in the field. The selected candidate's job responsibilities will include: Learning power distribution, process control, and process fundamentals involved in steel making. Maintenance/Engineering projects focused on safety, cost, and reliability. Preventive & predictive maintenance programs and routines. Routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment and process related issues. Learning and applying new skills in system troubleshooting, power quality, and power transmission within the steel making processes Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Rising Junior or Senior. Fundamental knowledge of protection and control schemes. Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
