This position will be responsible for controls engineering, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical design for a variety of automated equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, motion control, electrical schematics, and industrial automation.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommission, download, test, troubleshoot, and debug control systems for various types of packaging and automated equipment.
Develop PLC, HMI, and Motion Control programs for assigned projects.
Create complete electrical design packages, including BOMs, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts.
Design electrical schematics and control panel layouts using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar software.
Review and validate final design documentation, parts lists, and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Provide technical support to the service department and customers in the field as needed.
Research and evaluate new controls products and provide technical feedback and recommendations.
Collaborate with mechanical design and manufacturing teams to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and develop electrical designs.
Provide technical guidance, training, and resources to other employees when required.
Manage and coordinate multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
Travel as needed to support project commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer requirements.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
Qualifications3-5 years of experience in controls engineering, electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
Proficiency with Rockwell Automation RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000.Experience with other controls-related software is a plus.
Experience designing electrical schematics and control panel layouts using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar platforms.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Strong working knowledge of industrial automation components and applications, including:
PneumaticsI/O devicesAC/DC drivesServo systemsOperator interfaces/HMIsMotion controlNetwork communicationsIndustrial control systemsPackaging equipment or automated machinery experience is strongly preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
