Job Description

Marvin is seeking a Controls & PLC Lead to support our premium window and door manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead the design, programming, and optimization of PLC-based control systems, HMIs, and related automation to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. You'll provide hands-on troubleshooting, guide standardization of controls across lines, and mentor technicians. Partnering with engineering, maintenance, and operations, you will drive continuous improvement, reduce downtime, and support new equipment installs in a people-first, collaborative environment with strong long-term career opportunities. Responsibilities Lead design, programming, and maintenance of PLC and control systems for manufacturing lines Develop, configure, and support
HMI/SCADA
interfaces for operators and maintenance teams Troubleshoot and resolve complex controls, electrical, and automation issues to minimize downtime Standardize controls hardware, software, and documentation across equipment and facilities Lead automation projects, including new equipment installations and upgrades Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to improve safety, throughput, and quality Implement and support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for controls systems Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards and promote safe work practices Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to technicians and operators Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in controls and automation. Required Skills PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Siemens) Industrial controls design and troubleshooting
HMI/SCADA
development Electrical schematics and panel design Industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus) Robot and motion control integration Preventive and predictive maintenance planning Root cause analysis and problem-solving Project management for automation upgrades Safety standards (NFPA 70 E, lockout/tagout)
