Job Description

Position Summary Join a team that designs and delivers innovative automation solutions for some of the most challenging industrial applications. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead the development of advanced control systems from concept through commissioning, helping customers improve efficiency, reliability, safety, and performance. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across industrial manufacturing, process industries, food and beverage production, energy systems, and other specialized applications. You'll collaborate with talented engineers, technicians, and customers while utilizing leading automation technologies including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, motion control, networking, and industrial data systems. What You'll Do Design and Engineering Leadership Develop conceptual control system designs, including scope definition, functional specifications, process narratives, P&ID review, and project estimating. Lead the detailed design of electrical control systems, including control panel architecture, field instrumentation, hardware selection, and bill of materials development. Oversee and review AutoCAD Electrical drawings to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements. Evaluate existing control systems and develop modernization and obsolescence mitigation strategies. Software Development and Integration Design and program PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion control, and industrial networking solutions. Develop software architectures that support scalable, reliable, and maintainable automation systems. Participate in peer reviews to ensure software quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices. Project Execution Lead system testing, panel shop acceptance testing, and field commissioning activities. Coordinate project schedules, startup activities, and cross-functional project teams. Collaborate closely with customers, engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel to ensure successful project delivery. Participate in client meetings and design reviews, serving as a trusted technical resource throughout the project lifecycle. Team Development Mentor and support fellow engineers by sharing technical expertise, lessons learned, and industry best practices. Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Contribute to the growth of engineering standards, processes, and technical capabilities across the organization. Qualifications - Required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience designing and implementing industrial control systems. Experience developing PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with customers, engineers, technicians, and project teams. Willingness to travel approximately 15-30% depending on project requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Qualifications - Preferred Experience with AutoCAD Electrical. Mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with industrial networking, motion control, process automation, and machine safety systems. Salary Range:
$80,000 - $120,000 annually , depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
