Electrical EngineerLocation:
Kansas City, MOSalary:
$90-130kPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems for industrial and commercial projects. The role focuses on electrical design, controls integration, and documentation to ensure reliable, safe, and code-compliant systems. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to produce P&ID and schematic diagrams, PLC and HMI programming, and detailed electrical drawings using industry tools.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop electrical system designs and single-line diagrams, and produce detailed electrical drawings and schematics.

Design and update P&ID diagrams, control schematics, and wiring diagrams to support project requirements.

Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs (experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred).Coordinate controls integration, I/O lists, and interface requirements with instrumentation and mechanical teams.

Prepare and review electrical calculations, load analyses, short-circuit studies, and equipment sizing.

Create, edit, and manage construction documents and blueprints using AutoCAD, Revit, Plan 3D, and Bluebeam.

Perform field visits to verify installations, support commissioning, and assist with system start-up and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain project documentation, as-built drawings, and revision control for electrical deliverables.

Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and best engineering practices.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

EIT or PE license preferred but not required.3+ years of electrical engineering experience in controls, industrial or building systems, or related industries.

Hands-on experience with PLC programming and HMI development (Allen-Bradley and Siemens experience strongly preferred).Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Plan 3D, Bluebeam, and electrical design tools for producing construction-ready drawings.

Strong knowledge of P&ID creation, electrical schematic and diagram design, and instrumentation integration.

Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEC as applicable).Experience with load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and equipment coordination.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
