Job Description

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to support a leading nuclear engineering and construction provider in the power generation space. This role will serve as the technical lead for electrical engineering scopes on nuclear power plants and play a major role in project execution. Leading projects up to $1B in value, this individual will play a pivotal role for the power line of business and for the organization as a whole. The role requires close collaboration with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams while serving as the electrical subject matter expert for the project.
Their responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the engineer of record and technical lead for electrical scopes of work.○ Evaluating existing electrical infrastructure, transformer capacity, protection and relays equipment, etc.○ Lead the design for one-line diagrams, power distribution systems, switchgear design, grounding systems generator connections, etc.
  • Develop electrical design concepts for new build and retrofit projects.○ Clients can include utility providers and independent power producers (IPPs) that are looking to develop or renovate nuclear power plants
  • Review and approve electrical engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Lead a single large-scale project or several smaller projects simultaneously.
  • Projects can range from a few million dollars to more than $1 billion in total installed value.
  • Team size may range from a handful of engineers to 30+ project team members.80% time spent focusing on project execution, 10% business development, 10% misc. (building engineering teams for projects, writing reports, vetting projects, risk analysis, etc.) Skills and Requirements
  • BS degree in electrical engineering
  • 7+ total years of experience in electrical engineering○ At least 4 of these years have to come within nuclear power gen (Sargent & Lundy, ENERCON, Black & Veatch, Kiewit, Bechtel, good companies to pull from)Must be able to be authorized for un escorted access at US nuclear power engineering facilities
