Position Overview BLOC Resources is seeking an experienced Electrical Specialist SR 1 to support Southern Company operations in Ackerman, Mississippi. This senior-level electrical position is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, installation, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and systems within a power-generation or heavy industrial environment . The Electrical Specialist will work with a broad range of electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signaling and communication systems, plant DC emergency battery backup systems, and electrical systems ranging from 480V through 13.8kV . The position will also support basic high-voltage switchyard electrical maintenance consistent with established electrical safety practices. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of related electrical experience , strong industrial troubleshooting capabilities, and previous Journeyman Electrician or relevant military electrical experience. Key Responsibilities Electrical Maintenance & Repair Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, test, and maintain electrical equipment and systems.

Identify potentially unsafe electrical conditions and take appropriate action in accordance with established requirements. Assist with determining equipment condition and identifying potential performance or reliability issues. Perform required repairs, replacements, adjustments, and maintenance activities. Communicate equipment conditions and significant findings to supervision and appropriate plant personnel. Plant DC & Emergency Battery Systems Inspect and maintain plant DC emergency battery backup systems . Perform routine maintenance and testing to support system reliability and emergency preparedness. Identify potential equipment deficiencies and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. Maintain applicable documentation associated with battery-system inspections and maintenance. Electrical Isolation & Safety Perform electrical system isolations in accordance with applicable industry standards and plant procedures. Follow all electrical hazard-control requirements and established safe-work practices. Support and provide training to others on Electrical Safety programs as assigned. Maintain awareness of electrical hazards associated with energized equipment and high-voltage environments. Follow all safety warnings, posted safety signs, procedures, and environmental requirements while on company property. Troubleshooting & Reliability Troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment to identify the source of equipment failures and abnormal operating conditions. Provide recommendations for plant and equipment improvements when appropriate. Work collaboratively with plant personnel to resolve electrical equipment issues efficiently and safely. Support efforts to improve equipment availability and plant reliability. Planned Outage Support Participate in planned plant outages and maintenance activities. Provide technical support for inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment. Coordinate activities with maintenance personnel, technicians, operators, contractors, and other plant personnel. Assist with returning electrical systems and equipment to service following maintenance activities. Support outage schedules and priorities while maintaining safety and quality requirements. Plant Operations Collaboration Collaborate with technicians, operators, maintenance personnel, supervision, and other plant professionals to support reliable plant operations. Communicate equipment condition, maintenance activities, and performance issues to appropriate personnel. Provide suggestions for equipment and plant improvements based on field observations and technical experience. Support seamless integration of electrical maintenance activities with overall plant operations. Perform work associated with other classifications when necessary and appropriately assigned.
